Our Policies
Booking
Currently, all booking can be made through Airbnb. If you are a large group interested in booking out the property, please email us.
Rates
Room rates can be found on individual Airbnb booking pages. Weekly discounts are 10%; monthly discounts are 25%.
Cleaning fee per stay under 30 days is $45, over 30 days is $100. State & local occupancy tax fees are also collected by Airbnb.
Pet fee per day is $10/dog. Please see pet policy here. Upon booking on Airbnb (La Chihuahua & The Regal Beagle are our pet friendly units), let us know how many dogs you are bringing (2 max in La Chihuahua, 1 max in The Regal Beagle), and that you’ve read our pet policy. We will send you a fee request to be accepted before your booking starts.
Check-in
We will send check-in instructions the day before or day of your arrival. Check-in time is between 3pm—11pm for all units except The Regal Beagle, which is 3pm—9pm.
Check-out
Check out time is by 10am. This is because we often have several units to clean and prepare for the next guest that day. If you need a later check-out time, please let us know in advance and we will try to accommodate your request.
Before leaving, please:
Hang up all towels
Wash all used dishes (no need to dry or put away)
Turn thermostat down to 50° if used
Turn all lights & fans off
Leave your casita unlocked, with keys where you found them
Travel home safely!
Cancellations
Free cancellation for 48 hours after booking on Airbnb. After that, cancel up to 7 days before check-in and get a 50% refund, minus the service fee.
House Rules
Casitas are shoeless!
No smoking on the property.
No unapproved outside visitors.
Quiet hours are 11pm-6am. We have other guests on the property, so please be respectful.
Check in is after 3pm and check out by 10am.
No swimming after 10pm.
Kids MUST be supervised in the pool area.
While we welcome you to wander all around the property, please do not enter any indoor unit that is not your own. You may enter the geodesic dome greenhouse and large greenhouse by the pool.

No swimming after 10pm
Our swimming hole is very special to us, and it is an ongoing project to preserve its balance without the use of harsh chemicals. To help us keep it clean for you and the next guest, please rinse off in the shower before jumping in.
If you notice that the fountain is off (no water running) and the water looks cloudy, this is part of the cleaning process we need to perform occasionally, and it will be back to normal in 24 hours. Avoid using during this time.
Extended Stays
We welcome stays of a month or more! Please email us if interested.
We require a refundable damage deposit of $300 for extended stays. We’ll return this deposit within a week of your stay if the accommodations are left in satisfactory condition. The cleaning fee is $100. Should it be necessary, any expenses incurred to return the accommodation to a satisfactory condition will be deducted from the deposit. We provide cleaning supplies for your convenience, and ask that you treat our accommodations with respect and care. If you need any other cleaning supplies please let us know.
Smoking
We are a 100% no-smoking property.
Green Practices
Composting: We provide containers for food waste which we regularly collect for making compost.
Recycling: We provide containers for recyclables and collect after your stay. If you need to empty before your stay is over, you may place recyclables (clean paper, cardboard, cans & bottles) in the GREEN bin at the end of the driveway.
Bottled water: Please do not bring commercially bottled water to Casa Chicoma. We have pure, delicious, deep well water here—it’s most likely purer than the bottled stuff and it’s free!
Energy: Please turn lights, fans, & heat sources off when not in use.
Water: We are in the desert, where water supplies are limited. Please be conscious of this when using the shower and faucets.
Safety
The property is very unique in that it is terraced and has several different types of pathways and stairs. Please be careful and watch your step when walking around. The granite stepping stones can get slick when wet, so take care if it has just rained or snowed.
Please keep gate to pool area closed at all times. No swimming after 10pm.
Snakes are common to see enjoying the oasis along with us, so just be aware :)
Coyotes can often be heard howling in the hills and bobcats have been spotted. Always supervise young children and small dogs outside.
Please note: Although our lodgings and gardens are green and non-toxic in numerous ways, Casa Chicoma is not able to accommodate guests with chemical sensitivities or environmental illness.
